Aston Villa are showing interest in Nicolai Vallys from Brondby as they look to add firepower to their attack.

It has been no secret that Aston Villa have been looking for some forward options as the January transfer window nears.

Despite a great start for Unai Emery’s side, the Villains have been linked to various forward options including Nico Williams.

This all despite the form of Moussa Diaby, Leon Bailey and the summer addition of Nicolo Zaniolo.

Ekstra Bladet are reporting Villa’s interest in Vallys recently. With that being said let’s take a look at the latest player to be linked to B6.

Who is Nicolai Vallys?

The Danish attacker is now 27-years old and is playing for the fifth club of his eight-year senior career.

At the time of writing, he has scored seven goals and assisted two across 13 starts for Brondby in the Danish Superligaen.

This is nearly as good as his return from last season where he scored eight goals. However last season he added nine assists to his total.

The season prior to last Vallys had a combined 20 goals and assists. He has been consistently good for many seasons now.

Should Aston Villa sign him?

He is an attacking midfielder who can play on either wing which would add some useful versatility to Emery’s squad.

Although his age may be on the higher side, he could be a better guarantee of performances than a young star.

His stats speak for themselves as a goalscorer and creator so a move to a top league is the right move.

With Bertrand Traore looking likely to leave, and some insecurity surrounding Jhon Duran, Vallys could be an ideal signing.

It is unclear as to how much he may cost but a punt on one of the best players in Denmark right now could be clever.
