Aston Villa target, Nico Williams is said to be interested by the prospect of joining Aston Villa despite a difficult contract situation.
It is no secret that Aston Villa have held an interest in Nico Williams ever since Unai Emery came in.
These rumours come despite attacking signings Moussa Diaby and Nicolo Zaniolo over the summer.
The Villains have also been linked to stars such as Pedro Goncalves, but Williams is a target whose name won’t go away.

Nico Williams showing intrigue
It has been reported by GIVEMESPORT that the Athletic Bilbao star is ‘intrigued’ by Emery’s project at Villa right now.
With the prospect of Leon Bailey, Diaby and Williams all in behind Ollie Watkins, it could be frightening at B6.
The Spaniard brings pace, power and an eye for goal which will only make Villa better.
This signing would just add further strength in depth and allow Emery to choose players depending on the opposition.
Contract causing Villa problems
The issue that surrounds this deal is that Williams may not want to leave his boyhood club.
It has been suggested that ‘it’s not actually the transfer that you’ve got to convince him of. I think it’s actually leaving Athletic Club that you’ve got to convince him of.’
Both Nico and Inaki Williams have been with the Basque giants for their entire careers. This may cause issues for Villa moving forward.
It has been said that Athletic Club are quietly confident of tying the attacker down to a new contract before January.
It must be said this wouldn’t necessarily stop the Villains from making an approach but would make a move hard.
This move would make the Villa squad better and allow for someone like Bertrand Traore to move on.
With that being said, a large sum on a new attacker could potentially be better spent elsewhere.
