Emiliano Buendia joined Aston Villa from Norwich in 2021 for a then club-record fee of £33 million. During his stay at Villa Park, the midfielder enjoyed his first two seasons at the club which resulted in the qualification for European football for the first time in over a decade.
However, disaster stuck just before the start of the 2023/24 season, as an injury in training ruled him out for the entire campaign.
Buendia is also an international for his home country Argentina. The midfielder made his one and only cap for the country in 2022, in a 1-0 win over Colombia.
