Emiliano Buendia is back in Aston Villa colours after missing the entirety of the previous campaign because of an ACL injury.
You sense part of Aston Villa’s pre-season talk this summer is about the long-term injured players returning.
Tyrone Mings isn’t part of Villa’s pre-season tour of the USA as he continues his recovery, whilst Jacob Ramsey is expected to feature sooner rather than later after his injury woes.
But Villa fans and Unai Emery were delighted to see Buendia back in action after he missed the club making a return to the Champions League.
In the midst of all of that, the team’s USA tour got off to the worst possible start, with the Midlands side winning their opening two matches, but then being brought back down to earth.
Villa were thrashed 4-1 by MLS side Columbus Crew, with Buendia coming onto the pitch midway through the second half and looking pretty lively.
Ian Taylor noticed a change in Buendia, with the 27-year-old taking to Instagram to send a short message to the fans.
The one-cap Argentina star wrote ‘Everything passes, everything comes’, with several players reacting in the comments section.
Aston Villa players react to Emiliano Buendia’s return
New boy Enzo Barrenechea applauded his fellow countryman, with Emiliano Martinez also applauding his best mate and sending him a heart emoji.
Lucas Diane sent fire emojis to the player, with Mings also sending heart emojis and fans hoping his time to be out on that pitch will come pretty soon.
Emiliano Buendia is an underrated figure for Aston Villa
Make no bones about it, he is going to be very, very important for Villa ahead of the new season.
You are just hoping that he doesn’t have any setbacks because it has been a while since his body has been used to such high-intensity football.

Before Buendia’s injury, he started every game under Emery and was crucial, at the time, to the team securing Europa Conference League football.
But now the midfield is well and truly packed, including Villa fans all saying the same thing about Morgan Rogers, as he starts pre-season on a positive note.
