One of the biggest positives to come from the summer break is that it has given many players at the club time to recover from their injuries.

Villa had multiple first-team players out with long-term issues throughout the 2023/24 campaign which caused multiple issues for Emery.

One of the most important players was Emi Buendia who missed the entire season due to an ACL injury.

However, against Columbus Crew, the Argentine made his first appearance since his long-term absence

As a result, he took to Instagram after the game to express his relief. He said: ‘Everything passes, everything comes’.

One man who is loved by many of the Villa Park faithful is Christian Benteke. The striker was fantastic during his spell at the Birmingham outfit with his goals helping to keep the club in the Premier League and send them to an FA Cup final in 2015.

Now in the twilight of his career, he is making his trade in the MLS for DC United.

With Villa on tour in the USA, this gave the striker a chance to catch up with some of his former teammates including Youri Tielemans who he played international football alongside.

The two Belgians then had a photo together exchanging shirts which prompted Morgan Rogers to reply with: ‘what a player’, whilst Benteke added ‘Nice to see you, bro’.
