Aston Villa could now face a transfer blow due to Jhon Duran picking up an injury which could halt a move for Armando Broja.
It has been a heavily rumoured link this month that has seen Aston Villa want to sign some attacking reinforcements.
This window has been quiet for Unai Emery and Co. which has seen them make just one signing so far in the January window.
Earlier in the month, Kosta Nedeljkovic came through the doors at Villa Park before being instantly loaned back out.
Rumours linking the Villans to Morgan Rogers have refused to go away in recent weeks but a move hasn’t materialised.
There appears to have been more of a priority for selling players to help with FFP concerns. This started with Finn Azaz departing and more recently Leander Dendoncker left for Napoli.
Another rumour of a player leaving that has been rumbling on is Jhon Duran but his move away may be halted now.

Jhon Duran swap for Broja stopped
There hasn’t been a shortage of rumours suggesting that Duran wants a move away from B6 this window. With interest coming from AC Milan, West Ham United and Chelsea, he had plenty of suitors looking for his signature.
Given that the Villans only have one other recognised striker at the club in Ollie Watkins, Emery didn’t want to let him go.
This hasn’t stopped the discussion from continuing on regarding a move away for the Colombian. This has been due to a lack of minutes which he has featured in this season. According to FotMob, he has only played 174 Premier League minutes so far this season.
With links of Duran departing, there has been discussion and rumours suggesting Aston Villa have an interest in Armando Broja. In a similar sense, he has only played in 453 minutes for Chelsea due to injury.
Now Nizaar Kinsella has taken to social media to discuss why a move for Duran and Broja now looks like it is off the table.
On that, he said: “Aston Villa discussed Broja as part of a swap with Jhon Duran but his injury may now keep him out for 10 weeks.”
Yet another mysterious injury will keep Duran out for a prolonged period which only seems to come up when reports of unhappiness do.
A swap deal would benefit all parties and would be a signing to excite Villa fans. Now it appears that it may be a plan for the summer instead of now.
