It has been reported that Aston Villa have now had their third bid of £15 million rejected for Morgan Rogers by Middlesbrough.
The January transfer window is heading towards its deadline day with just three days until the closure on Thursday, February 1 at 11 pm.
With that being said, Unai Emery has only managed to get one deal across the line in the earlier days of the window.
So far the only addition has been Kosta Nedeljkovic but he won’t join up with the squad until the end of the campaign.
There has been one move that has been bubbling under the surface in recent weeks which appears to have reached its boiling point.

Morgan Rogers bid rejected
This week it had been reported that Aston Villa had placed a bid for Morgan Rogers in the region of £15m.
It had felt as if this would eventually be accepted given that Boro only spent £1m on him earlier in the summer window.
Although that may have been the case, John Percy has now reported that the bid has been rejected by the Championship outfit.
On that, he said: “Middlesbrough have dismissed #avfc third offer for Morgan Rogers. Boro have told Villa the asking price and are waiting for that to be met. Rogers has informed Boro of his desire to play in the Premier League but, at this stage, still some work to do.”
It appears that Boro are sticking to their guns and are ready to hold out for the exact amount of money they want.
The hope for Villa is that Rogers decides to try and force through a move given he opportunity of Premier League football.
Now Championship expert journalist, Ryan Dilks has opened up about the rejection from Michael Carrick’s side.
On that, he said: “They’ve turned down £7.5 million for a player who I’m not sure even starts for Middlesbrough when they’ve got a fully fit XI. Madness.”
It is clear to see that this bid felt like it would be accepted and Rogers would be an Aston Villa player come the end of the window.
Although Dilks suggests that Rogers wouldn’t start for Boro in a fully fit squad, Villa fans are still excited for the move.
It has now been made unclear whether or not a move will happen after it looking like it was approaching completion. The coming days will be the most important in seeing if a move will be completed or not.
