Aston Villa are set to make their final bid for Morgan Rogers in the January window once their game v Chelsea is over and done with.

The January window is starting to heat up for Aston Villa as they appear to be looking to make deals happen.

This started with Kosta Nedeljkovic who signed from Red Star Belgrade before being immediately loaned back for the season.

There have also been links suggesting that Unai Emery could go after a loan move for Florian Neuhaus in the coming week.

It appears that this move is in response to the loan move away for Leander Dendoncker who is set to join Napoli.

One move that has been bubbling under the surface all month is the signing of Morgan Rogers from Middlesbrough. Now a report has suggested that the move could move forward in the coming days.

Villa to return to Morgan Rogers after Chelsea game

There has been plenty of bids already rejected by Boro in recent weeks as they focused on their own Chelsea cup clash.

They travelled to Stamford Bridge this week with a 1-0 advantage in the EFL Cup semi-final. In the end, they were hit for six and lost 6-2 on aggregate.

The shining moment for the away side was Rogers cutting in from the left and bending a great effort into the corner. This saw praise from many corners including Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on Sky Sports.

This also sparked Villa fans into discussing the goal and Rogers as a player all over social media. Although a move hasn’t happened yet, Scott Wilson has suggested a final bid is coming soon.

On that, he said: “Aston Villa set to make final offer for Morgan Rogers once tomorrow’s FA Cup game at Chelsea. Boro have turned down two bids already – and won’t be selling for less than around £12m.

“The Teessiders have not disclosed the figures involved in Villa’s offers, but sources claim they fell significantly short of what would be considered as a starting point for negotiations.”

With there being a lack of detail over the shortfalls of the Villa bids it is unclear how far away they are from completing the deal. With that being said, the move is being put on ice for now for one reason.

This reason was explained by Wilson. He added: “Villa have put things on hold this week while Unai Emery is preparing for tomorrow night’s FA Cup fourth-round tie. However, once that game is out of the way, there is likely to be a fresh focus on transfer business.”

There is no doubt that this signing has got Villa fans excited and hopefully the deal can be sorted out this week.
