Now Aston Villa have announced the signing of Kosta Nedeljkovic, fans have been reacting to the news of the first January move being completed.

It has taken over two weeks but Aston Villa have now made their first move of the January transfer window.

The club have now announced the signing of Kosta Nedeljkovic from Red Star Belgrade as they loaned him back to them.

After a quiet window for Unai Emery and his side, the Villans finally appear to be moving in the right direction. With apparent links to Morgan Rogers, there is a possibility further moves could be made this month.

The last January window suggested that this one would be quiet. The signings of Alex Moreno and Jhon Duran were all that was done.

This window has followed suit and with the signing of Nedeljkovic, fans have gotten excited about what is to come.

Villa fans react to Kosta Nedeljkovic signing

It is safe to say that Villa fans would have been happy with a signing no matter who it was given how long it has been. After 22 days of the window, they finally got their wish.

Despite nobody having any real prior knowledge of the player before he was linked, fans are still excited with the news. This has sparked lots of conversation about Nedeljkovic and welcome messages across social media.

This fan has welcomed him saying: “Welcome the Serbian Cafu.”

There has been a wide raft of right-backs at Aston Villa who have gone onto be popular and cult heroes in some cases. From the ‘Scottish Cafu’, Alan Hutton to Matty Cash right now, there is a mould to fit into for the Serb.

Given that he isn’t going to feature for the club until next season at the earliest, he has time to develop further.

This fan has said: “Good looking young player.”

There is no doubt about that. Given his young age and his experience in a good league and in the Champions League, he has some positivity surrounding him.

Despite being a youngster he stands at 6ft and looks like a good physical presence in the full-back role. He will provide a point of difference to what the Villans already have.

This fan summed up the general feeling of Villa fans about this announcement. They said: Love this kind of signing.”

Bringing in the best young talent from Europe always brings excitement. This isn’t typically a signing Aston Villa would make, but now they do. With Duran last year and now Nedeljkovic, there is plenty to be excited about.
