Aston Villa have moved closer to making their first signing of the January transfer window. This is as they have a bid accepted for Cyril Ngonge by Hellas Verona.

After what has been a great season for Aston Villa they now look to be making their first addition this winter window.

It has been reported that the Villans have been after some attacking reinforcements. This has seen links to Yannick Eduardo as well as Albert Gudmundsson arise this week.

On the flip side, it appears that the club would be willing to let Jhon Duran go, with AC Milan showing interest in him.

This season has seen Unai Emery opt to utilise Ollie Watkins who has been in superb form all season long. With nine goals and eight assists, according to FotMob, he’s been in superb form in front of goal.

With that being said, the Villans have been linked to signing Cyril Ngonge. It had already been said that scouts were sent to watch him. Now the deal looks to have progressed.

Bid accepted for Cyril Ngonge

It had been reported by Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb that Villa were interested in the Hellas Verona winger, who had reportedly been valued at £13m.

This campaign, he has scored five and assisted two across 15 starts so far this season. Now Villa have been tempted in with an offer. It appears to have been accepted.

In another report by Tuttomercartoweb, they have suggested that an initial bid looks as if it has gone through.

They said: “The English have offered 10 million euros for the player. He arrived a year ago on a free transfer and who would represent a total capital gain for the Verona club which he has already verbally accepted. But now we have to understand what Ngonge himself wants to do.”

Looking at his WhoScored profile, there is plenty of good to say about the Belgian. They suggest that his crossing and finishing are his main strengths. Although they suggest his aerial duels may not be his best, he is adept in other areas.

He has played in various positions so far this season, operating on the right, in attacking midfield and as a central striker. This sees him be one of the better options by way of versatility for the Villans in this January window.

To most he will come in as an unknown quantity at B6, should these reports be believed, he could be the catalyst to begin a great January window.
