An Aston Villa player has been left disappointed by the actions of the club after over five years at Villa Park.
Aston Villa players have begun to return for pre-season ahead of what will be a huge season competing in the Champions League as well as domestically.
Manager Unai Emery will be putting his players through their paces on the training pitch whilst working with Monchi off it to identify transfer targets to improve the squad ready for the 2024/25 season.
With the arrivals of Lewis Dobbin, Ian Maatsen, Samuel Iling-Junior, Enzo Barrenechea and Ross Barkley, that work is well underway.

However, one player unlikely to have a future at the club is Kortney Hause and the defender has been left annoyed by what he has seen upon his return for pre-season.

Kortney Hause name spelt wrong in Aston Villa changing room
Hause has been at the club since they were in the Championship under Dean Smith and played a key role in promotion at the backend of the 2018/19 season.
Since then, the former Wolves defender has found it difficult to get into the side and has played just 32 Premier League games in four top flight seasons.

The 28-year-old has had a torrid time with injury too, and saw his loan spell at Watford in the 2022/23 season end after just three games.
After long-term knee issues, Hause returned to Villa training towards the end of last season and will have been looking forward to getting going this pre-season as he builds his fitness.
However, that return has been soured somewhat by the fact that upon his arrival the defender saw that the club had spelt his name wrong in the changing room despite being at Villa for over five years.
Hause posted on his Instagram story an image of the misspelt name with the caption: ‘I’ve only been here for five years and they still spelling my name wrong’.

What next for Hause?

It is unsurprising that Hause would find this frustrating, particularly as he likely already feels very detached from what is happening at Villa currently.
Having been part of the side that won the Championship play-off final five years ago, Hause is now very much a forgotten man at Villa Park and anything other than an exit this summer seems unlikely.
Where that will be is unclear, with his Watford loan ending in disappointment as injury prevented him having the chance to impress.
The Championship is perhaps the most likely destination, though, with the player himself desperate to make up for lost time and join a club where he can play on a regular basis.
If he can rediscover the form that he showed when he first joined Villa in January 2020 then Hause will be a really valuable addition to any second tier side.
