Recent reports suggest that, since Unai Emery joined Aston Villa he has rarely spoken to squad player, Kortney Hause since his return.
Kortney Hause signed for Aston Villa originally on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers back in January 2019. Following a successful half-season, in which Villa were promoted, he was signed on a permanent basis.
Since signing for the club he has gone on to make 43 appearances and score three goals.

The Englishman spent last season on loan at Watford but after just three games and being excluded from the squad, he returned to B6.
While on loan with the Hornets, Unai Emery joined Aston Villa and the expectations surrounding the club changed. With that and a lengthy knee injury, he hasn’t played for the Villans since the 2021/22 season.
With Pau Torres and Clement Lenglet coming in over the summer, there is little chance for Hause to come in. This has seen him not particularly involved with the club under Emery.
What has been said about Unai Emery and Kortney Hause?
Hause was always a good squad player since joining the club and was an ideal deputy to Tyrone Mings for many seasons. Left-footed centre-backs aren’t always easy to come by and the Wolves man represented that opportunity.
With that being said, Villa aren’t in the Championship any more and they aren’t facing a relegation battle anymore. No disrespect to Hause, but since he last played regularly for the club things have changed pretty massively.
With Emery in charge, there are high expectations placed upon the players by him and the club by the fans. As a result, the defender’s future possibly lies elsewhere.
In a recent report, The Athletic have said: “Sources close to Villa’s players say Emery does not tend to have conversations with members of the team. This is unless they are in matchday squads. Some who have spent prolonged periods out with injury, such as defender Kortney Hause, have only briefly spoken to Emery.”
This means that it will be additionally hard for Hause to get back in, potentially not his own fault. There is just so much quality at the club right now and high expectations from the manager.
If you were to ask Villa fans the majority would love to see Hause succeed at Villa Park. He has always had quality and has just struggled for minutes, often playing second fiddle. Although it seems January may see him leave the club, he will be remembered in a good sense by Villa fans.
