A round-up of all of the latest Aston Villa news as a former favourite sends warning over new signing while Joao Felix’s asking price has been revealed amid strong speculation.

Conor Hourihane has one concern over Aston Villa signing

Unai Emery has not wasted any time this summer. Villa have made multiple signings as they prepare for their Champions League campaign.

One man who has returned to Villa Park after less than a year away was Jaden Philogene. The winger only left the club for Hull City last season but has quickly reunited with Emery after a successful Championship campaign.

Commenting on the transfer, former Villa man Conor Hourihane believed that Philogene is a ‘really promising player’. However, he also warned that it would be a massive step up for the youngster who will be going from the Championship to the Champions League in one year.

One of the strongest links to Villa Park in recent weeks is Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix.

The Portuguese international is believed to be Emery’s ‘dream transfer’ with the club in ‘active contact’ with the Spanish side.

Felix is not currently training with the squad after he was spotted by himself after returning from the Euros.

Now, it is believed that if Villa wants to purchase the attacker this summer, they must pay around £50 million.

Despite the signings over the summer, Villa have also had plenty of departures. Douglas Luiz has moved to Juventus while, more recently, Moussa Diaby has moved to Saudi Arabia.

As a result, Villa may need a new star out on the wing to replace their record signing.

Now, reports have indicated that the club may be looking to sign Karim Adeyemi as a potential replacement for Diaby.

The Daily Mail has reported that the Birmingham outfit are ‘monitoring developments’ regarding the winger’s future who is valued at £35 million.
