Aston Villa have learnt how much they will have to pay to sign Joao Felix this summer after strong links to the Birmingham outfit.
While Villa has already signed multiple players this transfer window, Unai Emery has a ‘dream’ signing in mind.
The club are believed to be keen on reinforcing their attacking areas, especially with Jhon Duran being heavily linked away this summer.
However, if Villa are to get another attacker in, the club plan on going big. Emery is believed to be heavily interested in signing Felix this summer in what would no doubt be a statement to the rest of the Premier League.
Now, it has been revealed that Villa will need to pay a big fee if they want to bring the Portuguese international to the Birmingham outfit this summer.
Aston Villa will need to pay a near-record fee for Joao Felix

Felix has now returned to Atletico Madrid after Euro 2024. However, it has already been made clear that he is not wanted in the Spanish capital.
Upon returning, Felix was spotted training by himself on Friday morning as he prepares for the upcoming season.
With Villa believed to be in ‘active’ contact for Felix, it has now been revealed how much the club will have to pay to acquire his services.
According to as, Emery will have to fork out around £50 million if he wants the Portuguese international to join the club.
This fee would still cause the Spanish club to lose millions on the attacker who they purchased from Benfica for £113 million back in 2019.
It is believed that Felix is keen to leave his club and will not participate in Atletico’s friendly on Saturday.

Joao Felix will be worth the risk for Aston Villa

While the fee is certainly a big one, it will no doubt be worth the risk for Villa. Felix has shown signs of his potential throughout recent years but has struggled for consistent form.
However, being only 24 years old, the attacker is still well ahead of many players his age.
Emery has shown time and time again at Villa that he can get the best out of players and turn their careers around.
If he could do this with Felix, the attacker could be one of the best buys the club has made in their history.
