Bayern Munich have been dealt a potential injury blow ahead of their Champions League showdown against Aston Villa.
Aston Villa are currently preparing to take on Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Sunday but the Champions League lurks in the back of their minds.
On Wednesday night, Villa host Bayern Munich in what is a repeat of the European Cup final in 1982, with excitement building.
Unfortunately, Unai Emery revealed that John McGinn would be sidelined for another two to three weeks, therefore missing their second match in the competition.
Emery’s right-back Matty Cash is also fighting to be fit after suffering a hamstring in the defeat to Arsenal just over a month ago.
Cash has an outside chance of featuring in that match but he isn’t the only player that has a chance of missing the fixture.

Bayern Munich dealt Harry Kane injury scare ahead of Champions League clash vs Aston Villa
Bayern Munich have been dealt an injury scare ahead of their trip to Villa Park after Harry Kane went off in the 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
Kane suffered a blow to his ankle following a strong challenge from Amine Adli as he was substituted in the closing stages.

The Englishman is one of the best strikers on the planet and during his time at Tottenham, he netted eight goals and supplied two assists in 12 appearances against Aston Villa.
Losing their goalscoring machine would therefore be a devastating blow to Bayern, who have started the campaign on fire as they’ve gone unbeaten in eight games with Kane scoring 10 in all competitions.
Updating supporters on Kane’s injury after the match, Vincent Kompany said: “I’m not a doctor, but I hope nothing serious. It’s still early to say. Hopefully, he’ll be fit for Wednesday.”
That hopeful verdict wasn’t shared by sporting director Max Eberl, who added: “If Harry goes off the pitch, something really happened. It doesn’t look good.”

Aston Villa must avoid injuries vs Ipswich Town
Emery said during his pre-match press conference that Villa won’t get distracted by the Champions League and his full focus is on the trip to Portman Road.
Villa will be aiming to continue their fine start having collected four wins from five in the Premier League, with a fixture against a newly promoted side representing a great opportunity to do so.
Equally, Emery’s men must leave East Anglia unscathed, especially after losing McGinn to injury for the next few weeks.
McGinn’s leadership qualities and energetic displays will be a huge miss and that is why they can ill-afford to lose another key player to injury.
Three points, a clean sheet and no bad news to report would be the perfect trio for Emery this weekend.
