Aston Villa produced another stunning comeback to beat Wolves 3-1 on Saturday but Unai Emery was dealt an injury blow.
Aston Villa secured their fourth win in five Premier League games but just like against Everton a week earlier, Unai Emery’s men didn’t make it easy for themselves.
Villa went behind through Matheus Cunha in the 25th minute but in the second half, the hosts stepped their foot on the gas by scoring three goals late on.
The ‘magnificent’ Morgan Rogers was at the heart of that fightback as he laid on assists for Ollie Watkins’ and Jhon Duran’s while Ezri Konsa also scored.
It was a victory that once again showcased Emery’s brilliant substitutions, although one of them was enforced as Leon Bailey replaced John McGinn at halftime.

Unai Emery shares John McGinn injury update after Wolves win
The only negatives to perhaps come from the win against Wolves were the performance of Diego Carlos – who gifted Cunha a goal – and the injury to McGinn.
Villa’s captain was substituted at half-time with a hamstring injury, with Emery now confirming that the 29-year-old won’t be available for a few weeks.
“It is his hamstring. When we arrived here, he had a hamstring injury against Tottenham in the January and today I think it is less than that injury. But he will be not available, I think, for a few weeks,” Emery said as per Birmingham Live.
With a timeframe of a few weeks put on his injury, the ‘outstanding’ McGinn could now miss the Carabao Cup trip to Wycombe, and Premier League clashes against Manchester United and Ipswich Town.

The most important of all, though, the Scotsman may not be available for the Champions League home fixture against Bayern Munich on October 2nd.
John McGinn’s absence will be a huge blow to Aston Villa
When Emery first arrived at Villa Park, McGinn thought his Aston Villa future was in jeopardy as the Spaniard gave him an ultimatum.
Fast forward almost two years and the Scotsman is one of the first names on the team sheet due to his relentless pressing and ability to drive his team forward.
Leading by example as captain, McGinn’s role in the starting XI is unique, as he kickstarts the Villa press from wide and orchestrates play centrally.
Following this injury update, though, the Birmingham side will miss his defensive and attacking output, particularly in the Champions League clash against Bayern.
Hopefully, McGinn makes a speedy recovery and he’s available for that crunch match at home to the Bundesliga giants.
