In England, Guendouzi is most famous for his spell at Arsenal. The midfielder joined the Gunners in 2018 after he impressed at French side Lorient.

After 82 total appearances across all competitions, Guendouzi left Arsenal in 2022, moving permanently to Marseille, who he had spent the previous year on loan too.

Since joining Marseille, Guendouzi has remained an official player at the club ever since.
During the 2023/24 campaign, he was sent out on loan to Lazio with the Italian side having the option to buy the midfielder, which could become mandatory under certain conditions.
However, it is believed that the conditions for this were approximately €13 million plus up to €5 million in potential add-ons.
Does Matteo Guendouzi play for France?
Despite having the option to play for Morocco through his heritage, Guendouzi opted to play for France, the country he represented at youth level on multiple occasions.
