Aston Villa are said to be one of many clubs showing an interest in Gio Reyna as he looks set to leave Borussia Dortmund in the near future.
Despite it being a quiet window for Aston Villa there has been no shortage of transfer links and rumours this month.
There have been plenty of rumours of the Villans signing players for all areas of the pitch. From defenders like Kosta Nedeljkovic to more experienced midfield options like Martin Zubimendi.
This window has seen more of an impetus on attacking reinforcements for Unai Emery to add to his squad.
Recent results, such as the draws to Sheffield United and Everton, have sparked conversation regarding a need for forward depth.
Rumours linking the club to Emile Smith Rowe have been reignited as well as a potential departure for Jhon Duran.
With all that being said, there has now been a report suggesting that a move for Gio Reyna may now be on the cards.

Gio Reyna available to Aston Villa
Given that he is only 21-years old, it does feel as if has been around for a long time. He made his debut for BVB in 2019, according to FotMob.
After making his debut for Dortmund at the same time as one Erling Haaland, the pair had been complimentary of each other.
In an interview with the Bundesliga at the time, the now Manchester City wonder called Reyna: “The American dream”. Given what the Norway international has gone on to achieve, praise doesn’t come from much higher.
With that being said, he has struggled for first-team minutes as of late with injury playing its part on his career in recent months.
This campaign so far, he has featured in just nine games having only started one and playing less than 250 minutes. This has sparked rumours of a move away from Signal Iduna Park.
In a report by Transfers.com, they have suggested that Villa could be one of the names interested in signing Reyna.
On that, they said: “Reyna is, therefore, available for sale, with Villa considering the prospect of signing a 21-year-old who scored seven Bundesliga goals in just 609 minutes of action last season.
“The player, who is under contract with Dortmund until 2025, is “determined” to leave the club, according to a report from ESPN and would only cost €15-20 million.”
It must be said that in today’s market, that sort of fee for a youngster with so much experience could be a steal. However, with his injury and attitude issues, he could still pose a risk to bring in.
If Emery and Co become desperate and still feel they need an offensive-minded player, Reyna could represent a good option.
