Aston Villa are still showing an interest in Norwich City starlet, Jonathan Rowe despite many other Premier League teams joining the race.

Earlier in the season, Aston Villa had been linked to Jonathan Rowe following an excellent start to the campaign.

After an excellent start to the season, Unai Emery still appears to be looking to add some attacking depth to his Villa squad.

With Bertrand Traore set to depart and Jhon Duran potentially wanting a move for more game time, this could be necessary.

So far the Villans have made just eight changes all season and as a result, minutes for squad players have been lacking.

With stars like Leon Bailey and Nicolo Zaniolo also struggling for consistent minutes, January recruits may be tough to come by.

Should Aston Villa sign Jonathan Rowe?

According to TEAMtalk, as well as Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace are also interested in Rowe.

The Englishman can play on either wing which may make him a useful option at Villa Park moving forward.

With that, he is also comfortable playing in behind a central striker. This ability may lend itself perfectly to him playing as a second striker in Emery’s 4-4-2.

In recent weeks, Moussa Diaby hasn’t been at his usual high standards and an option to rotate him may be helpful.

This season started on flames for Rowe as he scored four goals in four games to begin the year.

In total, this season, he has scored seven and assisted one as he has started all 16 games under David Wagner.

There are additional reports suggesting that the Canaries are looking to tie their star boy down to a new long-term contract.

With that being said, the prospect of Premier League and even European football with the Villans may be too much to refuse.

This signing would definitely excite Villa fans as the Championship has produced some top talent in recent years. With Palace interested, considering they signed Ebere Eze and Michael Olise, they know talent when they see it.

Villa can offer Rowe top Premier League game time and Conference League football on top, a tantalising prospect for the youngster.
