Aston Villa transfer target, Jonathan Rowe has suffered a broken hand this week which may hamper Unai Emery’s move for him.
It has been a quiet January transfer window for Aston Villa which has seen them make just one signing at the time of writing.
So far this month, the only signing that the Villans and Unai Emery have made is Kosta Nedeljkovic from Red Star Belgrade.
This hasn’t stopped there from being plenty of rumours surrounding Villa and any potential business to be made. This has seen Leander Dendoncker leave while Jhon Duran has been discussed with a departure many times.
There have also been links revolving around potential incomings. This has seen the most concrete link being to Morgan Rogers of Middlesbrough.
Another starlet linked to Villa Park has been Jonathan Rowe from Norwich City. An injury issue may now scupper the Villa’s hopes of signing him.

Jonathan Rowe injury set to halt move
This week has seen various links suggesting that Aston Villa are on of the many teams that are interested in signing Rowe.
The England youth international has so far registered 12 goals and two assists in 25 Championship starts, according to FotMob. As a result, it was no surprise that the Villans’ hat was thrown in the ring with interest in him.
Despite his great form and Villa now being shown to be interested, there has been an issue that has cropped up. Speaking to the BBC, Norwich City manager, David Wagner has opened up about his star man’s injury this week.
On that, he said: “Jonathan Rowe has broken a bone in his hand. He will miss the Liverpool game on Sunday and possibly the Coventry match on 3 February but may be back after that. He doesn’t need surgery. Rowe is super-cool and very mature, which means he can handle injury situations”
This injury has ruled him out of the FA Cup clash away to Liverpool and will see him out for well over a week. Because of this, interested clubs may be put off making a move until the summer transfer window.
There is no doubt that Rowe would make for an interesting signing and certainly has a raft of potential. With himself and Rogers interested, Villa appear to finally be taking advantage of the Championship.
Whether Villa signs Rowe now or wait until the summer window, Villa fans can get excited over the potential star they are getting.
