Aston Villa are showing an interest in Athletic Bilbao star, Inaki Williams as they look to add attacking reinforcements to their squad.

It has been a good start to the season for Aston Villa but with that being the case, they are still after additional squad depth.

So far this campaign, in the Premier League, Unai Emery has made very limited changes to his starting XI from game to game.

Although this may be the case, in certain areas the Villans could be left short if more injury worries come up this season.

With injuries to stars like Tyrone Mings, Alex Moreno Emi Buendia and Jacob Ramsey, Villa have suffered their fair share so far.

If a scenario arose where a star like Ollie Watkins was injured, Emery’s side would be left very short up front.

Should Aston Villa sign Inaki Williams?

These reports have come as somewhat of a surprise as in the past weeks the Villans were linked to his brother, Nico Williams.

These reports have lasted many months and with his contract situation causing issues, Emery has been looking at the youngster.

Now reports have come out suggesting that Inaki Williams is the newest man looking to be bought in at Bodymoor Heath.

These rumours have been reported by Football Insider who suggest a striker is being scouted by the Villans.

Discussing a move for Williams, Wayne Vesey said: “The Midlands giants are scouring the market for a striker with the new year approaching, and the 29-year-old is seen as someone who fits the bill.

“It is believed Unai Emery is a big admirer of Williams following their overlapping time in La Liga. He wants someone who is “ready to go” upon arrival at Villa Park.”

It must be said the 29-year old, Ghana international has a raft of experience and provides an added versatility to the side.

The attacker is great in the air and is no slouch on and off the ball. He is able to play on either flank or through the middle, making him a useful addition.

With a contract until 2028, it may be difficult for the Villans to tempt the boyhood Bilbao star away.

If a fair fee can be agreed between the clubs, this deal could be great for Villa as they push for a great second half of the season.

Depth in the striker position is what Villa fans have questioned this season and with Williams, they could have the perfect solution.
