Former Aston Villa star, Gabby Agbonlahor has sent a message to Gareth Southgate about Jacob Ramsey’s England credentials.

During this international break, Aston Villa have had many stars called up to their respective national setups.

As most fans had been clamouring for, Ezri Konsa was finally called up to the England squad by Gareth Southgate.

This has pleased the fans as a player who has come on leaps and bounds under Unai Emery. He is well deserving of his place in the team.

With his addition to the squad, there have been thoughts of which other Villa talents are deserving of a place in Southgate’s side.

What has Gabby Agbonlahor said?

While speaking on his TalkSport show, the former Villa forward was discussing the England credentials of Konsa since his call-up.

Discussing the defender he said: “For Konsa it’s been coming. All the Villa fans have been shouting for Konsa. I feel sometimes Southgate waits for teams to be in the top five, top six. Aston Villa are in the top five now and he’s probably thinking OK Konsa’s been outstanding.

“He’s outstanding, he’s quick for starters. He’s strong and good in the air but he’s also very good at coming out with the ball. You’ve got Konsa playing in a fifth-place Aston Villa team who are flying, playing outstanding football. He’s got to start playing more Villa players.”

It is true that the centre-back has been the Villans’ most important players in recent times and has finally got what he deserved.

With that being said, this led Agbonlahor to question which other Villa talents should be added to Southgate’s squad.

On that, the ex-Villa man said: “When Jacob Ramsey gets fit again come and watch him more, he’s another one who will break into that squad. England fans won’t be disappointed.”

Despite Ramsey suffering this season with an injury lay-off this season, he does still have a goal in his only appearance.

With himself and Alex Moreno returning soon, fans can’t wait to see the star boy on the left-hand side of the midfield.
