Aston Villa are looking to continue improving their team this summer, with Leon Bailey placed on the transfer list and a replacement bid for.

Villa are preparing for a season filled with European nights as they aim to further improve on last season’s 7th place finish. With Youri Tielemans already signed, Pau Torres is set to join at some stage this week.

Two top quality acquisitions as Unai Emery eyes multiple others to build his side into his own. Now he seems set to let one of Villa’s biggest names go with the replacement already identified.

Bailey who joined the Villa as part of the trio signed with Jack Grealish’s £100million fee. Despite lofty expectations Bailey never established himself and failed to make an impact.

Now the Daily Mail suggest that Bailey is up for sale this summer, in an effort to clear out some space for a new winger to be brought in as replacement.

Villa bid for Diaby

Villa have been linked with multiple wingers this summer, with Ferran Torres and Harvey Barnes the most common. Both have however proved out of reach as of now.

Barnes seems destined to head north toward Newcastle, while it is thought Torres didn’t fancy departing Barcelona for Villa.

Therefore it now seems Villa have turned their attentions toward Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby. The French international has reportedly been informed he will be allowed to leave the club, should a suitable offer come in this summer.

Now according to L’Equipe, Villa have submitted an opening offer for the 24-year-old who would represent a significant outlay for what would be a star player.

Diaby joins Wilfried Gnonto as the clubs next target with the attack a priority following a midfield and defence signing each.
