Jhon Duran has been urged to knuckle down at Aston Villa following reports of potential behind the scenes unrest.

Aston Villa‘s young Colombian forward Jhon Duran has long been suggested to be unhappy at Villa Park. Rumours reached a level that Unai Emery had to refute them publicly last month.

This is all despite the 19-year-old enjoying a relatively positive start to this season. This season in total he has four goals however that is in just 13 games, few of which saw substantial minutes. This equals out to a goal every 77 minutes he’s on the pitch according to BBC Sport.

Despite this, recently Duran has been labelled a ‘handful’ who is causing problems which could inevitably pave the way for a departure from the club.

Now Neil Moxley has shared some advice with Duran…

Moxley sends a message of advice to Duran

Speaking exclusively with GiveMeSport, Duran has been advised to knuckle down and earn his place in this Villa squad.

“I would think that for Duran, it may be wise for somebody to take him to one side, one of his teammates and just say ‘look this is a wonderful opportunity and if you don’t knuckle down, if you don’t do what the manager says, and if you don’t go on this developmental learning curve that you need to, Villa do have the financial firepower to go out there and buy an understudy to Ollie Watkins who can score the goals, if anything should happen to him in the January transfer window.’

“So I would like to see Duran knuckle down, get his head down, start scoring some goals, start developing and start being a player that Emery can trust, because there’s something in there.”

Duran needs to be patient

At just 19 years old, Duran shouldn’t be in any rush as if he can prove to Emery he deserves his trust, the Spaniard could make him a top level scorer.

Duran needs to get his head down and work incredibly hard, because otherwise Villa will just go and buy someone else, given they’ve already proven they have financial resources to do so.

Duran could get his chance to feature this week as Villa face Legia Warsaw at Villa Park. Emery’s side have already qualified for the knockouts so some key players should be rested.

The perfect time for the Colombian to prove himself and score a goal or two.
