Aston Villa manager, Unai Emery wasn’t best pleased following his side’s 2-1 loss to Everton and subsequent dumping from the EFL Cup.
Villa fans were left very disappointed following the dismissal of the Villains from the cup at the hands of Everton.
James Garner put the away side in front with a well-taken finish. It was partially the result of some poor defending.
John McGinn started the game at left back and was lucky to not score an own goal. His wild clearance was well saved by Robin Olsen from close range.
Emery made three changes at halftime but couldn’t stop Dominic Calvert-Lewin from going through and making it 2-0.
Boubacar Kamara scored a deflected effort late in the day but it was too little too late.
The Villains are out of the EFL Cup in the third round for the third season in a row.

What has Unai Emery said after Everton?
Emery shared sentiment with the fans: “We feel disappointed with the result.”
There were several errors made which aren’t usual for the high demands of the Spaniard.
Discussing that point, the manager said: “Some of the mistakes we made tonight were not normal.
“We have to try to add some players into the team and try to get balance with them in every competition we are going to face.”
The mistake by Youri Tielemans early in the second half all but confirmed the result for the Toffees.
On the display, Emery said: “In the second half, we started well but only for three or four minutes. We made another mistake and they scored.
“Then it was very difficult to come back and get a result.”
Despite the defeat, the Villa manager isn’t thinking about it: “We have to move on quickly and thinking about Saturday at home against Brighton.
“It’s going to be very important here at home with our supporters, trying to keep the same structure, tactically, that we were doing.”
The game against the Seagulls will be tough and Villa need to bounce back quickly.
