Aston Villa’s tour of the USA continues as the players prepare for their clash against RB Leipzig on Thursday morning.
Christian Benteke, who is plying his trade for DC United, has been pictured with his fellow countryman, Youri Tielemans.
Aston Villa fans are yet to see the Belgium midfielder in action this summer because he only returned from his holidays after participating in Euro 2024.
In truth, Tielemans will probably be glad that he missed some of the action because Villa were deservedly beaten 4-1 by Columbus Crew on Sunday.
Unai Emery’s side will continue their pre-season tour of the USA by taking on RB Leipzig on Thursday morning and there is a chance Tielemans features.
The 27-year-old is going to play a crucial role in the middle of the park ahead of the new Premier League campaign, especially after Douglas Luiz’s departure.
And he seems to be impressing in pre-season training after posting a few pictures and the caption ‘work, work, work’ on Instagram.
Tielemans added by saying ‘quick catch up with a legend’, as he was pictured with ex-Villa favourite Benteke holding the shirts of the Midlands side and DC United.
Morgan Rogers lauded his club teammate in the comments section of his IG post, whilst Benteke also dropped him a little message.
Christian Benteke and Youri Tielemans
Rogers wrote ‘what a player’, whilst Benteke added ‘Nice to see you, bro’.
Youri Tielemans should start for Aston Villa
Given that Tielemans is still building up his fitness levels, he will more than likely start from the bench against the German side.
But ahead of the new Premier League campaign – Emery will be planning for an opening match away at West Ham United – Tielemans should be pushing to start.

There could be a fair few changes to midfield compared to last season. Luiz has gone and Boubacar Kamara is still recovering from an ACL injury he suffered in February.
That’s why the likes of John McGinn and Tielemans are going to be very crucial in the middle of the park because there will be a lot of new faces around them.
