Ahead of Aston Villa’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur, Alan Brazil has made his prediction and it might not impress Villa fans.
With Tottenham sitting in fourth and Aston Villa in fifth, this game is a big clash with the victors looking for a top-four spot.
Both sides have been on an upward turn in form since they hired a new manager. Villa have had Unai Emery at the helm for 12 months and have gone from 17th to fifth in the Premier League. Tottenham, under Ange Postecoglu, have had a superb start to the season with the Aussie winning three Manager of the Month awards.
Villa come into the game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a sticky patch of away form. With just two Premier League away wins, that form needs to be turned around.
On New Year’s Day this year, the Villans travelled to North London and secured a 2-0 win. Goals from Douglas Luiz and Emi Buendia secured the three points.

Looking forward to the same fixture this campaign, the Villans will be looking to replicate the result.
What has Alan Brazil said?
Speaking on his TalkSport show, Alan Brazil was discussing the upcoming fixture with former Villa man, Gabby Agbonlahor.
The Villans have had a superb season, 13 wins from 13 from home sees them fighting for a Champions League place.
Their away form has been worse, but top teams like Newcastle and Liverpool have been faced. Wins at those grounds aren’t easy for anybody to come by.
With that being said, Brazil wasn’t convinced by Emery’s side’s credentials: “I don’t think you’ll beat Spurs. Because Tottenham are at home… We’ll have another bet, you won’t beat Spurs.”
The pundit was very confident in his opinion and wasn’t for budging. This is in spite of the best efforts of Villa fan and ex-captain, Agbonlahor.
The former striker said: “So with Spurs’ injuries and their suspensions, you still think the way Villa are playing. Villa are only one point behind Spurs, scored more goals than them.”
With James Maddison and Micky Van de Ven injured and Bissouma suspended, Tottenham are without many key men. As a result of this, many Villa fans are growing in confidence of three points being picked up.
In saying that, Brazil stuck to his guns: “A score draw I think. I don’t care. Away from home, you’re average.”
Villa have only lost games on the road this season so it is fair to suggest that their away form isn’t great. Given the form they have been in overall, it is a stretch to say they have been average. With the quality the Villans have available, and the quality Spurs have missing, a win for Emery’s men is not impossible.
