One of Unai Emery’s most promising Aston Villa talents has drawn comparisons to Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham after his performance against Arsenal.

Aston Villa supporters will perhaps still pinch themselves after watching the meteoric rise of the club under Unai Emery.

When the Spaniard arrived in October 2022, almost two years ago, Emery inherited a squad that was vastly underperforming as Villa battled relegation.

Fast forward to the present day and the Villans have achieved a seventh-place finish in 2022/23 and now qualified for the Champions League.

Fans have also been blessed with several quality players, including attacking midfielder Morgan Rogers, who has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League.

Morgan Rogers compared to Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham after Arsenal loss

Rogers was the ‘best player on the park’ as Villa were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal on home turf.

The 22-year-old stood out like a sore thumb for his performance that was described as ‘unplayable’ by Jamie Redknapp while Tim Sherwood believes Rogers is an £80 million player.

Villa’s No.27 impressed with his exceptional physical and technical attributes, as he floored powerful midfielders Declan Rice and Thomas Partey on numerous occasions.

For pundit Jay Bothroyd, he saw ‘shades of Jude Bellingham’ in his performance. The Real Madrid superstar is inarguably the best young English talent on the planet, so to receive a compliment like that speaks volumes of Rogers as a player.

Bothroyd said, as per Optus Sport: “He’s a player that I looked at in that game and I was like, bloody hell, I can see shades of Bellingham in him.

“As in when he’s driving forward with the ball, he’s going into the box, he’s powerful, he’s got good feet.

“Listen, he had Declan Rice on toast. He must have twisted him inside out about three times and then drove into the box, tried to pull one back and it got cleared in the end, but he put in a solid performance.

“If he can keep building on that and keep playing like that, he’s going to be a top, top player.”

Villa’s upcoming Premier League games are favourable

Villa’s start to the season was tough as they visited West Ham and hosted Arsenal. But following those two difficult tests, Emery’s men have a series of winnable fixtures.

In their next four, they play Leicester City, Everton, Wolves and Ipswich Town; a period where the Spaniard will be targeting maximum points, starting with a trip to the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

For Rogers, in particular, it’s a huge chance for him to register some goals and assists on the board as that is the only current criticism anyone can have of the youngster at the moment.

Rogers has scored just three goals and assisted once in 18 appearances for the club. However, Villa’s upcoming games are surely an opportunity to improve on that, especially if he aspires to reach the levels of Bellingham and Musiala; two players he’s been compared to in recent days.
