Aston Villa fans would have replayed that Jhon Duran goal against Everton about one thousand times over already.
It’s a goal for the ages and one that will be remembered for a long time, as Aston Villa came from 2-0 down to beat Everton 3-2 and make it three wins from their opening four matches.
Despite Duran’s stunning winner and his third Premier League goal of the season, Troy Deeney didn’t name the rising star in his Team of the Week.
The man who was picked is Ollie Watkins, whose own performance and two goals on the night, were overshadowed by his fellow striker.
There is a battle for a starting place between Watkins and Duran, with the former scoring 19 Premier League goals last term and supplying 13 assists.
Watkins has been on a bit of a goal drought and has already missed some big chances this season, especially during the defeat to Arsenal.
That’s why Deeney stated that the England international had a ‘poor start to the season’ and he was hoping his brace will now ignite his season, as he told BBC Sport.
Watkins dropped out of the England squad last week, so he didn’t feature during the international break and it seems to have helped his cause.
He deserves his place in the Team of the Week and fans will be hoping his form picks up at the right time, with Champions League football around the corner.
Ollie Watkins named in Team of the Week
“He’s had a poor start to the season, in terms of chance conversion,” said Deeney.
“But not travelling with England probably helped him get a rest in after a long summer. Hopefully, those two goals get him up and running. It’s a big week with the Champions League so good for him to get off to a flyer.”

Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran battle
Emery has a selection headache on his hands, but one that he should very much enjoy because he has two strikers ready to fire.
In truth, Villa’s fixture list from now until the next international break probably helps the manager because he will need to rotate, no matter what.

The Champions League games begin on Tuesday for Villa when they take on Young Boys in Switzerland, before a Midlands derby against Wolves.
Then Villa’s League Cup campaign begins, before a trip to Ipswich and a huge week where Villa play Bayern Munich and Manchester United at home.
Enough games and minutes to go around for Watkins and Duran!
