It’s not good for the heart, but Aston Villa put on an entertaining showing at home to Everton on Saturday evening.

After half an hour, Unai Emery would have been pulling his hair out because his team were 2-0 down and punished for two mistakes.

Aston Villa made one change from the win over Leicester City before the international break, with Jacob Ramsey coming in for the injured Leon Bailey.

From an attacking sense, Villa weren’t doing much wrong, but they had a mountain to climb and they rose some style.

From Pau Torres building up from the back to Villa’s winner Jhon Duran, they kept the pressure on Everton and secured the deserved points.

That’s three wins out of four Premier League games, with the only defeat coming against Arsenal when Ollie Watkins missed two glorious chances

But Watkins was back on the scoresheet against Everton, with his brace levelling the scores, before Duran netted an outrageous long-range winner

After the game, Duran was lauded for his performance, with the player reacting to Instagram and stating that he was ‘happy to mark again’.

Torres and Bailey lauded their teammate in the comments section, as he is now pushing and probing for a start.

Jhon Duran’s goal for Aston Villa against Everton

Bailey told Duran ‘Crazy boy with the crazy left foot’, added with fire and a laughing emoji.

Liverpool’s Luiz Diaz added and wrote ‘Galzoooo’ and Youri Tielemans stated ‘what a goal’.

Morgan Rogers said ‘He’s done it again’, Lamare Bogarde called him ‘different’ and Pau Torres said ‘Let the deliciousness continue’.

Aston Villa in the Champions League

The defence needs to fix up, for large parts, the attacking power has got the team out of a few situations, especially Duran.

Villa return to the Champions League next week and they need to iron out the mistakes, or else, those in Europe won’t be as friendly.

The fans would have probably accepted three wins out of four, but the big games keep coming, starting with Young Boys on Tuesday and then a Midlands derby against Wolves next Saturday.
