Aston Villa manager, Unai Emery has opened up about Leon Bailey as he went off at halftime in the win vs Arsenal last night.
It has been a great start to the season for Aston Villa which was only made better following a 1-0 win over Arsenal at Villa Park.
Under the management of Unai Emery, the Villans have been superb which has seen them reach third place in the Premier League.
In the past week, Villa have secured two famous wins over Manchester City and Arsenal which has added to their title credentials.
With that has seen some standout names perform well to help confirm the Villans’ place in the top four this season. With Emi Martinez and the defence being the standout, a man further up the pitch has definitely caught the eye.

What has Unai Emery said about Leon Bailey?
Leon Bailey has finally found his feet at Villa Park after an indifferent first few seasons with the club. He has taken the place of new signings Moussa Diaby and Nicolo Zaniolo and made it his own.
In the past two games against the Premier League’s elite, he has a goal and an assist while being a constant threat.
In just five Premier League starts, this campaign, Bailey has five goals and four assists averaging a goal involvement every 65 minutes. With this being said, Villa fans might have been concerned to see him withdrawn at halftime against the Gunners.
Talking with John Townley, Emery has opened up about the Jamaican wideman. He said: “He was tired, completely tired! Hopefully, he’s not injured but I don’t know exactly.”
This will be music to the fans’ ears as they won’t want Bailey to miss out for many weeks given his excellent recent form.
Although his attacking stats are something to be marvelled at, his defensive output has been another bow in his quiver. Against City, he had one defensive action and made four recoveries in his 85 minutes on the pitch.
Despite only featuring in 45 minutes vs Arsenal he made two tackles and made three defensive actions. Bailey is as important as anyone right now and Villa fans can be hopeful that his injury isn’t a serious one.
It has been a great season for all in claret and blue so far but he has been quite superb in recent weeks. Bailey is a visual representation, this season, of the great work that Emery has done at Villa Park.
