Ben Foster was left blown away by the performance of one Aston Villa player in their 2-0 defeat against Arsenal on Saturday evening.
Aston Villa will have been disappointed to slip to their first defeat of the campaign but Unai Emery has no reason to panic about Villa losing.
Emery’s men created the better of the chances throughout the match but were victims of being wasteful in front of goal. Ollie Watkins was the main culprit against the Gunners as he spurned two golden opportunities to score.
Watkins slid the ball wide when unmarked inside the box and then, in the second half, his diving header from point-blank range should have nestled into the back of the net however, David Raya produced a world-class save.
The Villans’ wastefulness indeed came back to bite them as Leandro Trossard and Thomas Partey scored deep into the second period.
However, that couldn’t dampen the spirits of the hosts as the display of one individual stood out at Villa Park.
Ben Foster explains how Morgan Rogers can become a ‘£100m player’
The whole of the footballing world waxed lyrical about Morgan Rogers after his incredible display against Arsenal.
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp described Rogers as ‘unplayable’ as he proved too much to handle for midfield titans Declan Rice and Thomas Partey.

Striking fear into the Gunners’ midfield with his sheer strength and power, Rogers performance drew comparisons to Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham and Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala.
The 22-year-old looks destined to become the next world-beater to emerge from the Premier League and Ben Foster believes his price tag can rise to £100m if he could add goals to his game.
Speaking on Fozcast, Foster said: “Hey, he has got everything, absolutely everything. I saw Lee Hendrie afterwards saying, if he could just add goals to it, he would be, he’s a 100 million pound player, and he would be. That’s the part that remains to be seen.
“But everything else was just a breeze for him, an absolute breeze.”
Despite playing on the same pitch as William Saliba, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, Rogers was described as the ‘best player on the park’ and that just demonstrates how exceptional he was.
Emery can transform Rogers into a world-beater
Many questioned Villa paying £16 million for the attacking midfielder in January but as Gabby Agbonlahor previously said, Rogers is proving the doubters wrong at Aston Villa.
No disrespect to Michael Carrick, who currently manages Middlesbrough, but Rogers is now working with a world-class coach in the shape of Emery, who can transform the England under-21 star into a world-beater.
Emery’s track record of doing so with other players suggests a similar narrative could play out, as he’s dragged Ollie Watkins, Leon Bailey and Ezri Konsa to new heights.
Under the Spaniards’ guidance and hard work on the training ground, Rogers has the skillset to become the latest player to see a spike in his development.
In the first two matches of the campaign, Villa fans are already seeing that work come to fruition and now, it’s about adding goal involvements to his game, something Foster thinks can turn him into a £100m player.
