Morgan Rogers has made a storming start to life as an Aston Villa player.

The 22-year-old hasn’t even been at Aston Villa for a year, yet he is already playing in the Champions League and earned a maiden England call on Monday.

Rogers could be in line to make his England debut ahead of the UEFA Nations League fixtures against Greece on Thursday evening and then a home clash against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley on Sunday.

But Aston Villa fans are also due some more brilliant news regarding Rogers’ contract.

Sources have told Aston Villa News that the club plans to announce Rogers’ new contract until after the international break is concluded.

Talks have been on-going for a few weeks, but they are still yet to dot the i’s and cross the t’s, with the player and the club happy with everything that is in place.

Villa initially paid £8 million for the attacking midfielder’s talents, but there have been bonuses on top, including Villa reaching the Champions League.

Boro will get a bonus for Rogers’ England call, sources have told Aston Villa news, but Villa are happy with this as they always expected him to reach these levels.

Jacob Ramsey also in line for a new Aston Villa contract

Rogers isn’t the only one penning a new deal, as sources have told Aston Villa News that Jacob Ramsey is also in line for a new contract.

The 23-year-old, who endured an injury-hit campaign last season, has come through the club’s academy and served Villa colours since the age of six.

When Rogers and Ramsey’s new deals are announced, they will join Jhon Duran in signing a new Villa contract since the new season started.
