Unai Emery is aiming to make the final adjustments to his Aston Villa squad before the transfer window closes.
It has been a highly eventful transfer window at Villa Park this summer. The club have witnessed a high turnover of players which saw star player Douglas Luiz depart for Juventus.
Coming into the club, players such as Amadou Onana and Ian Maatsen are the most high-profile as they prepare for their return to the Champions League.
However, going into transfer deadline day, Villa’s business is not yet complete. The club have been linked to a host of players with additional departures expected.
Below, Aston Villa News has highlighted three potential deals that could go through on the final day of the window.

Lutsharel Geertruida

Lutsharel Geertruida is a Dutch international who has earned plenty of plaudits for Feyenoord.
With Matty Cash picking up an injury, Villa’s right-back area has been significantly weakened. As a result, Villa are aiming to bring Geertruida to the club in a deal that could be worth £25 million.
Talks opened between the two clubs earlier this week with deadline day presenting the final chance for Emery to secure the right-back this summer.

Diego Carlos

Diego Carlos was a fundamental factor behind Villa’s success last season. The centre-back was a regular in the first team as the club finished fourth in the Premier League and qualified for the Champions League.
However, his long-term future at the Birmingham outfit has not been certain. Carlos was reportedly made available for transfer at the start of the summer.
Fulham have since bid for Carlos, but any potential move to the capital club is now believed to be dead.
With so much speculation surrounding the Brazilian throughout the window so far, it remains possible that a move could be struck on the final day.
Leander Dendoncker

Since joining Villa from rivals Wolves, Leander Dendoncker has struggled for regular game time at the Birmingham outfit.
The Belgian international has only made 36 appearances in all competitions across the past two seasons and spent 2024 on loan to Italian side Napoli.
With it becoming clear that Emery sees the 29-year-old as surplus to requirements, a permanent move away could well materialise.
Dendoncker has been linked with Anderlecht going into deadline day with the two clubs in discussions over the potential transfer. The midfielder is reportedly keen on the move with the potential transfer fee currently unclear.
