Three Aston Villa players who could still leave after transfer deadline day

Despite the English transfer window coming to a close on Friday night, there are still plenty of players who could leave Aston Villa.

After a busy summer, Villa had a far less active transfer deadline day. Unai Emery opted not to bring in any more players into Villa Park, with only Leander Dendoncker departing for Anderlecht the day after.

However, this does not mean that more transfer activity cannot take place. Many of Europe’s transfer windows are still open as well as Saudi Arabia’s, with the latter closing on Monday.

This presents an opportunity for many of Villa’s squad to still depart, whether it be on loan or permanently.

As a result, Aston Villa News has highlighted three players who could still leave Villa after deadline day.

Diego Carlos

Diego Carlos’ future at Aston Villa was subject to plenty of debate throughout the summer.

In early August, it appeared that the defender was set to depart Villa Park when a bid was submitted by Fulham for the centre-back.

However, by Friday’s end, Carlos remained a Villa player with no defensive reinforcements coming in.

Yet, with many transfer windows still remaining open across Europe and Asia, the Birmingham outfit may be inclined to let the Brazilian go if a good offer comes in.

It is clear that Emery does not rate Carlos as highly as Pau Torres and Ezri Konsa which could result in a move.

Rory Wilson

Rory Wilson is seen as an exceptional upcoming talent in the Villa academy. The striker, who was brought in from Rangers in 2022, has been on fine form.

Wilson has been viewed as the ‘next Harry Kane’ with Villa clearly believing he has plenty of potential.

As a result, Villa may want to send the youngster out on loan. The Birmingham outfit has sent many of its players to foreign teams in recent years to gain valuable experience.

With Wilson being a top upcoming talent, the club may want to ensure he is continuing his development in a first-team environment.

Kortney Hause

Kortney Hause has not played a game for Villa since the 2021/22 campaign. Injuries have not been kind to the defender and he has become a forgotten man at Villa Park in recent seasons.

However, while he has been on the sidelines, Villa have improved by leaps and bounds.

It is unlikely that Hause will be in the first team picture anytime soon, and with the 29-year-old now in the latter stages of his career, it may look to move on.

Turkey has been a prime destination for many English footballers in recent years and with their transfer window open until mid-September, he may look to move.
