It has been suggested by Dean Jones that Aston Villa will make moves in the January transfer window should a potential deal arise.
It is safe to say that Aston Villa have had a good start to the season and will want to maintain their Premier League form.
Moving into the January transfer window, Unai Emery will be looking to add some reinforcements to his squad.
There have been some injury worries for the Spaniard to work around. This includes Alex Moreno and Jacob Ramsey’s recurring issues that have kept them out until recently.

With that being said, Emery has opted to not rotate his starting XI very much so it could be tough for new players to get in.
Villa fans have been clamouring for reinforcements in the striker and right-back areas as there is a need for cover there most.
What has Dean Jones said about the January transfer window?
It has got to be said that Villa don’t typically make lots of signings and that trend is likely to continue. There is a need for some squad depth but the starting XI this season has been superb this campaign.
Discussing the Villans’ transfer window with Give Me Sport, Dean Jones has opened up about the potential signings.
One position that Villa continues to be linked to is a forward option. On that, Jones said: “There’s no way that Ollie Watkins is not starting nine games out of ten. They will look at an attacking presence, and then there’ll be other areas of that pitch that they look to influence.”
With Jhon Duran at 19-years old being the only other “senior” striker option at the club, an injury could pose a worry. With Watkins missing against Legia Warsaw, the Colombian started but this left a striker-less bench.
This isn’t sustainable over the course of a whole season and as a result, a forward option in January makes all the sense.
Adding to this, Jones said: “I think the midfield seems in pretty good shape, but defensively, left-back is talked about, and I think it seems like the position Villa always seem to turn to when there’s potential for a new signing.
“The left-back position seems to always come onto the radar. But I think they’ll make one or two signings for sure.”
With Lucas Digne and Moreno, it always seems unclear why Villa are linked to players in the same position. Jones clearly believes that the want for a fullback will continue into January.
Villa typically always make good signings, especially in windows under Emery. There is no reason why this winter won’t be the same and Villa fans are hopeful it will follow suit.
