Aston Villa and Unai Emery have been told to question the potential signing of Paulo Dybala despite how exciting it may be.

It has been a great season for Aston Villa but in recent weeks they have shown an inability to convincingly break down a low block.

Against Everton, this was once again the case as Unai Emery witnessed his first Premier League 0-0 draw as manager.

There was some controversy regarding Alex Moreno’s opener which took over three minutes to be checked by VAR.

Despite having 69% possession, according to FotMob, the Villans were unable to forge an opportunity to win the game.

With that being said, there have been links suggesting that there is interest in signing some attacking reinforcements. From Cyril Ngonge to Emile Smith Rowe, there have been plenty of rumours.

Now there has been discussion regarding Paulo Dybala but now Villa have been warned before bringing him in.

Aston Villa Paulo Dybala warning

There have been discussions in recent weeks revolving around Dybala and his January release clause from Roma.

As a result, there has been plenty of excitement building on social media regarding the potential signing of the Argentine.

It does appear that there is a deadline for the use of his release clause and as a result, a move may not even be possible for Villa.

Whether or not that is the case, Dean Jones has discussed the excitement of the move of Dybala with Give Me Sport.

On that, he said: “A deal for Dybala really would be sensational and obviously there will always be part of any Villa fan that would like that to happen.”

It is no surprise that this deal would excite Villa fans given the profile of Dybala. According to FotMob, he has over 115 goals for Juventus and now has 24 in 56 for Roma. He has plenty of pedigree and a rumour linking him to B6 caught the eye.

With that being said, Jones has also warned Emery over a potential move. On that, he added: “Emery and the recruitment team have to be very careful that if they are to pursue something like that it is for the right reasons and he fits with the philosophy and character of the side.

“He’s an unbelievable player but you would need something like that to be happening for the right reasons and his injury record definitely has to be considered. He misses so many games.”

There are potential drawbacks to this move and knowing the proficiency of the Villa recruitment team, they will know that.

This is certainly a move that has made fans ambitious and excited for the rest of the window, although it is unclear whether it will happen.
