Bayer Leverkusen have been incredible this season, with star midfielder Exequiel Palacios playing a huge part, now Aston Villa are said to be interested.
Aston Villa’s rapid rise over the past season has been profound and it, with European qualification has allowed the Villians to be shopping in a different market.
The likes of Moussa Diaby and Pau Torres are players who never would have been a possibility with Villa prior to Unai Emery’s arrival.
But now with expectations higher, recruitment must also ramp up and with Youri Tielemans not quite being what Emery was expecting, a midfield signing is being considered.
With that in mind, reports in Argentina have suggested that Villa are keen on bringing in Argentine midfielder, Exequiel Palacios.

Villa keen on Palacios
According to TNT Sports Argentina, Palacios is being hunted by a few Premier League sides.
“Notable Premier League teams, such as Manchester City, Newcastle and Aston Villa, are seriously evaluating the possibility of acquiring Palacios’ services during the January transfer window.”
It says a lot about the player he is, that two Champions League teams with bottomless war chests are also interested in the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder.
Palacios has recently signed a new deal with Bayer, however, that won’t be putting off those interested.
A sale would be an interesting and no doubt tempting possibility for Bayer, given their club model, which often sees their best players leave, see Diaby in the summer just passed.
Palacios as a midfielder, can do everything and would add some tenacity to the midfield along with being quicker than Boubacar Kamara (20.01 mph to 18.33 mph)
