Rumours around the upcoming January transfer window are now in full motion as Aston Villa looks to strengthen their squad.
Villa are currently in a difficult situation. While the club has hit a poor run of form, the international break has only made things worse for Unai Emery.
The Villa manager has to once again oversee another injury crisis at Villa Park after multiple stars picked up knocks over the past week.
Most recently, Amadou Onana was sent back from the Belgium camp before Ezri Konsa was also sent home with an injury.
In order to combat this crisis, the Claret and Blue side may look towards the January market to strengthen their position.
Now, according to one article, Villa are set to break the bank to bring in one exciting talent.
Aston Villa considering a record bid for Athletic Club midfielder Oihan Sancet

According to Caught Offside, Villa are set to beat Man United to the signing of Oihan Sancet.
The article claims that Villa have been scouting the attacking midfielder for some time with scouts attending the games to watch the 24-year-old.
While a bid is yet to be made, it is believed that the Claret and Blue side are seriously considering one in the upcoming January transfer window.
However, Sancet does have an €80 million release clause. If Villa were to match this, it would make him the club’s record transfer.
Aston Villa should be careful in the January transfer window

As good as Sancet is, Villa needs to be careful in the transfer market and try not to overspend.
The club had to let go of multiple talents in the summer to ensure that they did not break any PSR rules and suffer a points deduction.
While Villa are no doubt making plenty of money in the Champions League, they cannot afford to become complacent.
Monchi needs to consider if splashing potentially €80 million in January is a wise move, especially when cheaper options could be available in the summer.
