Aston Villa have now been linked to signing Wilfred Zaha who is someone Unai Emery has had his eye on for many years.
This January transfer window hasn’t seen Aston Villa be shy when it comes to showing interest in making attacking additions.
It is no secret that Unai Emery wants to bulk out his squad by adding some extra quality in a few areas across the pitch.
There have been links to signing Cyril Ngonge that have come and gone while Artem Dovbyk has also been discussed.
With that being said, there have been no signings made as of yet and now there are links to new players this month. The latest set of rumours have excited Villa fans as Emery has wanted to sign the same player in the past.

Unai Emery reignites interest in Wilfred Zaha
Back when he was manager of Arsenal, the now Villa manager was interested in signing Wilfred Zaha from Crystal Palace.
In his spell with the Gunners, Emery had said: “I usually want to sign first the players I know there.
“When we played against Crystal Palace, Zaha showed he was a very good player.”
It is clear that the Spaniard rates the attacker and it is possible that a deal could be made this winter to bring him to Villa Park.
In his time with Palace, he was sensational at times and often dragged the Eagles up the table in a solo effort. That is just how good he was.
This prompted Ally McCoist to refer to Zaha as ‘absolutely outstanding’ following some match-winning performances.
It has now been reported by Football Transfers that the Villans are interested in signing the Irovian this winter window.
On that, they said: “A deal for Zaha this month will be difficult. The 31-year-old only joined Galatasaray last summer on a free transfer from Crystal Palace. Zaha is understood to be happy in Turkey and not looking to move on this month.
“Villa are a club that could make Zaha at least think twice about his future, especially as Villa are second in the Premier League, but it will be a hard deal to do.”
He has always had an ambition to play in the Champions League and Emery’s side could pose that opportunity. It must be said that he has managed that feat with Galatasaray but a Premier League may be appealing.
This move doesn’t appear like it will happen in January like every move Villa have been linked to. It has been a quiet window and that appears to be continuing this month.
