Aston Villa have now learned the price they will have to pay if they are to sign a transfer target who has lit up the Euros this summer.

Unai Emery welcomed his players back for pre-season on Monday morning ahead of a season that will see Aston Villa compete in the Champions League.

With the required sales of Tim Iroegbunam, Omari Kellyman and Douglas Luiz ahead of the 30th June PSR deadline all being completed, Villa can focus on incomings to get their squad ready to compete on all fronts.

That has seen the club turn their attention to a player who has been impressive for Turkey at Euro 2024 in Galatasaray’s Baris Alper Yilmaz and they have now been informed of his asking price.

Aston Villa told Baris Alper Yilmaz price ahead of potential swoop

Emery has already welcomed two new wingers to Villa Park this summer, with young duo Samuel Iling-Junior and Lewis Dobbin both making the move.

However, the Spanish coach does not seem content with stopping there, with Villa reportedly keen on a move for Yilmaz after his dazzling Euros displays.

The 24-year-old was part of a Turkey side who impressed in the competition before suffering defeat at the quarter-final stage against the Netherlands.

Whilst he did not manage to score or assist at the Euros this summer, Yilmaz was a constant threat operating as either a winger or striker for his country.

These displays have piqued the interest of Emery and Villa have now been told how much it would cost to bring Yilmaz to England.

According to Turkish outlet Sabah, Galatasary value Yilmaz the same as they did Sacha Boey who they sold to Bayern Munich for around £25 million.

Sabah also report that Manchester United are interested in a move for Yilmaz, so Villa may have to act decisively to secure the attacker’s signature.

Despite his failure to score at the Euros, Yilmaz did manage seven goals and 12 assists in all competitions for Galatasary last season.

If the club had any doubts about the Turkey player’s ability to compete with the best in the Premier League they would have been put to bed with his display against Netherlands, where he gave Virgil van Dijk a real headache.

Van Dijk is known for his ability in one v one defending but was booked in the 64th-minute as Yilmaz showed an impressive turn of pace to breeze past the Liverpool defender before being brought down.

Former Turkey international Selcuk Inan certainly feels Yilmaz would be a success in the Premier League, saying: “I think Baris Alper Yılmaz can play very comfortably for many teams in the Premier League at the moment. He’s a very special player.

“We worked a lot together. If Barıs Alper improves himself with his final ball, he can easily play for the best clubs in the world such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Arsenal.

“He’s a player with a lot of potential. Hopefully, he will get that chance and represent them.”

If Villa can sign Yilmaz for £25 million, he could prove to be a real bargain.
