Aston Villa are one of several clubs interested in signing highly-rated Norwich City winger Jonathan Rowe.
That is according to the Sun, who claim that Aston Villa have entered the race for the 20-year-old and are keen on bolstering their forward options.
Despite being stripped for cash, the report states that Norwich do not want to sell Rowe in January and will only listen to offers in the summer having already rejected a £15 million bid from Wolves in September.
Villa are currently barging their way through the chasing pack and launching an assault on the Premier League title after a magnificent start.
Unai Emery’s side followed up their sensational victories over Manchester City and Arsenal by coming from behind to beat 10-man Brentford on Sunday.
That win put Villa one point behind league leaders Arsenal and means they have the chance to go top of the Premier League, at least for the time being, by beating strugglers Sheffield United on Friday night.
Although a challenge for the title is firmly on the cards, reinforcements in the attacking third would help establish their place in the top four.
Villa have struggled to break down teams, especially away from home, however, the capture of Jonathon Rowe could provide some much-needed X Factor from the bench.

How has Jonathan Rowe performed this season?
In Saturday’s 2-2 draw with East Anglian rivals Ipswich, Rowe scored both goals to single-handedly earn his side a point.
The 20-year-old has been the star of the show; a prodigal entertainer, who opens his box of tricks and dazzles defences with his speed, skill and agility.
When he receives the ball out wide, he’s so direct and difficult to stop in full throttle but unlike most wingers his age, supplies an end product to match, scoring 11 and assisting twice in 22 matches.
The destructive wide player, whose blistering form awarded him a call-up to the England U21 squad for the first time in October, has outperformed his xG in the Championship by 6.16, as per Sofascore, and converted one in four of his opportunities, paying ode to how clinical he is in front of goal.
Despite placing third in the Championship’s top-scoring charts with ten goals, the “real talent” – as dubbed by one voice on the Pink Un Podcast – will be questioned about whether he can translate such form into a title-chasing team.
He would go from being the main man at Carrow Road to one of several superstars at Villa Park and sometimes players don’t handle that transition well.
With that said, Villa have had success poaching talent from Norwich previously having captured Emiliano Buendia for a club-record deal in 2021.
Although his spell at the club has been blighted by setbacks and is currently recovering from a long-term knee injury, the Argentine demonstrated his special talent when he was fit and if he signs, Rowe will aspire to do the same.
