Aston Villa are still said to be interested in signing Pedro Gonçalves from Sporting Lisbon as his release clause is revealed.
This month is yet to throw up any new signings in attacking areas for Aston Villa with just days left in the window.
There has been no lack of interest from Unai Emery’s side when it comes to being interested in many different players.
There have been many links to Morgan Rogers this month while the Villans may look to Jonathan Rowe in the winter window.
With that being said, the only confirmed deal of the window so far has been Kosta Nedeljkovic who has gone back out on loan.
Now there have been some links to a player who was linked in the summer. Now his transfer release clause has been set by his club.

Villa back in for Pedro Gonçalves
There has been no shortage of links between Aston Villa and Pedro Gonçalves over recent summer transfer windows.
Now a report from O Jogo has suggested that there are multiple sides including the Villans interested in signing him.
They have said: “Aston Villa, Tottnham and West Ham United are back in a chase for the Sporting star. It’s recalled that Aston Villa and West Ham had an ‘old’ interest in the 25-year-old, who’s sometimes known as Pote, and were convinced again by his recent performances.
“O Jogo claims that the two clubs have been sending ‘insistent’ questions to the midfielder’s agents about his situation, and are aware of how difficult the signing will be.”
According to FotMob, the Portuguese international already has six goals and six assists so far this season. This is enough to spark the interest of any club so these rumours won’t come as a surprise to anyone.
Now his information regarding his release clause has been shared by Sports Witness which could hamper a potential move.
On that, they said: “Pote is protected by an €80m (£68m) release clause, and Sporting have been saying that they’re not letting any of their stars go in the middle of the season, meaning that amount would have to be paid for a January move.”
This would certainly point towards a potential summer move for the Gonçalves as opposed to a move this winter window. However, with FFP restrictions, a £68m layoff may not be possible even in the summer transfer window.
It is exciting to be linked to players with this sort of calibre but it doesn’t feel like it is a realistic move in the current climate.
