Aston Villa seems to be keeping up their interest in signing Jeremie Frimpong with new reports coming out this week.
It has been a great season for Aston Villa but this hasn’t stopped them being linked with signing players in January.
It has been made clear that Unai Emery is looking to maintain his side’s great form by adding reinforcements.
There have been plenty of calls for attacking signings with Cyril Ngonge being rumoured at the beginning of the window. Links to Artem Dovbyk as well as a young goalkeeper have been brought up by reports this week.
There have been reports suggesting that the Villans want some additional cover for Matty Cash in right back. Now rumours regarding Jeremie Frimpong have been discussed.

Alex Crook on Jeremie Frimpong Villa rumours
Given that Cash is the only right back at the club, there have been no shortage of reports linking Villa with Frimpong.
With that being the case, the Villa fans are excited about potentially signing the man Neil Lennon once referred to as ‘incredible‘.
It must be said that with Bayer Leverkusen sitting at the top of the Bundesliga, the Dutchman may not be tempted away.
Discussing the move, Alex Crook has opened up to Give Me Sport regarding the potential signing of the right back.
On that, he said: “Jeremie Frimpong is the one that I think is the most genuine from what I’m told. Leverkusen aren’t particularly keen to sell him in this window. But if that was to change, I think that they would certainly be part of the conversation.”
Given that he has scored five and assisted six in 16 games, according to FotMob, there is plenty of interest in his signature.
With Villa sitting pretty towards the top end of the Premier League, they will have plenty of pull in the transfer window. The hierarchy also has plenty of ambition and will be looking to build on this season’s success.
On that, Crook added: “Yeah, but it’s been fairly quiet so far. They were big in the summer and they’re probably in a better position than they could have hoped. The owners have got deep pockets and they’re ambitious. So yeah, I think towards the end of the window that might well ramp up.”
This is a signing that will excite Villa fans but it appears that a move isn’t likely this winter. A revisit over the summer seems closer to the mark.
