Aston Villa are once again interested in signing Marcos Acuna from Sevilla with the potential move being discussed by Dean Jones.
There have been plenty of links to attacking reinforcements for Aston Villa so far in the January transfer window.
It has been a great season for Unai Emery and his side which is maybe why there is no rush to bring any new players in.
This week has seen rumours suggesting that a move for Kosta Nedeljkovic is all but complete as he travels for medical tests.
The rest of the window has seen transfer links to mainly attacking players as opposed to defensive additions. Although there has been discussion regarding Mikel Merino and Martin Zubimendi in the past week.
Now there has been a rumour reignited that doesn’t appear to be going away in recent weeks and months.

Marcos Acuna rumours reignited
There have been so many rumours that have suggested that the Villans are interested in signing Marcos Acuna. This has come even with the great form of both Lucas Digne and Alex Moreno this season.
The need for a left back is unclear although there has been reports over recent months that Digne’s wages are a problem. Given that he is on £120k-a-week, there may be a need to move him on with Saudi Arabia interest.
As a result, this has sparked further conversation regarding the potential signing of Acuna from Sevilla this month.
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Dean Jones has suggested that Emery and the Villans might come back in for the Argentine.
On that, he said: “They got seemingly very close to pushing this one over the line in the summer and it didn’t happen. I think from that moment, I was very sceptical about it ever rearing its head again and actually becoming something that was actually reasonable.
“But here we are, again, and Villa are being linked with him. And I think there’s a small possibility that is something that they look to press on with. I think that one of the things we have to consider here is that Emery himself has a real fondness towards the player. I think that that’s probably the one thing that makes me take this so seriously.”
With the versatility and high-level experience that Acuna could bring to Villa Park, it isn’t a surprise that the links are so persistent.
Given that Emery has worked with him previously and he is seemingly available, this deal could be on the table this month. Acuna could prove to be a useful signing for depth and his presence in the dressing room.
