Aston Villa seem to have taken their opening day 5-1 defeat against Newcastle as a sign that they need to sign more players.
The Villains were completely outclassed as Newcastle ran through them in what was supposed to be a closely contested game.
Following this, Villa have moved quickly onto recruiting talent that could make them better.
Nicolo Zaniolo is set to join the club as early as today from Galatasaray on-loan with an option to buy.
He would be a direct replacement for the injured Emi Buendia and arrives as a highly exciting quantity in attacking midfield.
It does seem however that Villa won’t be stopping there, with another defender being suggested as the next target.
A player they are so keen on, that they’ll be willing to exchange a player once deemed ‘extraordinary‘ in order to secure the signing.

Villa to offer trade for Acuna
The player being linked with a move to Villa Park is Sevilla full-back and World Cup winner Marcos Acuna.
Acuna is a left-back and would be a brilliant alternative to the current Lucas Digne who has been below par.
Vamos Mi Sevilla have now reported that Villa are willing to offer a player in exchange for Acuna.
The local outlet claims Sevilla are requesting €15million (£12m) for the Argentine defender.
In order to see this fee lowered however, Unai Emery and Monchi are willing to let Diego Carlos go back to Sevilla on loan.
Carlos was signed in 2022 from the Spanish side but isn’t in the plans of the current boss and is surplus to requirements, this deal could happen.
