Aston Villa are said to be one of the Premier League teams who are interested in signing Peterborough United defender, Ronnie Edwards in January.
Despite having a good season so far, Aston Villa are still interested in making signings and adding quality to their squad.
This campaign has seen Unai Emery help Villa to second place in the Premier League with Champions League a real possibility.
There have been links to attacking signings such as Cyril Ngonge in recent weeks as the Villans look to add squad depth.
There have been calls to make additions up top such is the lightness should a star such as Ollie Watkins suffer an injury.
Although that may be the case, there are now rumours suggesting that a defender is now being linked with a move to Villa Park. It looks like this may be one for the future.

Ronnie Edwards linked to Aston Villa
It is no secret that there is plenty of Premier League interest in signing Peterborough United centre back, Ronnie Edwards.
At 20-years old he has already made 117 appearances at London Road having joined from Barnet in August 2020, according to FotMob.
He has been a mainstay for United this season having played in every single game, 25 times in total so far. In that time he has managed a goal and an assist plus ten clean sheets.
Given his young age, it is impressive how many games he has played and the quality of those games have been top. This has seen top teams show interest in his signature moving into the winter window.
Now the Mail on Sunday have suggested that Villa are amongst the names that are looking to make a move for the young Englishman.
On that, they said: “Aston Villa are the latest side interested in signing Edwards. Fellow Premier League sides West Ham and Crystal Palace are also said to be interested, with the latter reported to have had three bids rejected for him.”
This deal would be exciting from a Villa perspective but it is unclear as to where his opportunities would come from. With Pau Torres, Ezri Konsa and Diego Carlos, there are plenty of top-class centre-backs at the club already.
There may be an opportunity to sign Edwards and loan him back out with a view to being involved in the first-team squad next season. Given that West Ham or Crystal Palace are interested and likely to provide him with more game time, they seem more likely.
He would be a shrewd piece of business should he come in but given the quality already available, it doesn’t appear likely.
