Aston Villa loanee, Philippe Coutinho appears to be securing a permanent move away from the club with Inter Miami continuing their interest.
Following him signing for Aston Villa, it has been a tough time for Philippe Coutinho, there is no doubt about that
He signed for the club on a permanent deal in May 2022 in a deal worth a reported £17m, considered a bargain at the time.
Following this he failed to recapture the form from his loan spell. His game time under Unai Emery has been non-existent at times and he was loaned out in the summer.
The Villans haven’t struggled in his absence and if anything they have only gone from strength to strength. They are now fighting at the top end of the Premier League with Champions League a possibility.
Now it seems that Coutinho has no future at Villa Park and a move away in January or the summer looks likely.
Inter Miami want Philippe Coutinho
There has been an influx of former Barcelona talent at Inter Miami in recent weeks. This is as David Beckham looks to grow his new club’s brand and footballing philosophy.
The highlights of these moves has seen Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez reform 2/3 of the famous trio, minus Neymar.
In a report by Gazzetta, they have suggested that Miami could come in for Coutinho and add to the Barca contingent.
On that, they said: “Thanks to the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, three former team-mates from Barcelona, champions of everything in 2015, arrived in Florida: Sergi Busquets, Jordi Alba and the “Pistolero” Luis Suarez.
“In Miami they got a taste for it and, with the aim of winning the championship after failing to qualify for the 2023 playoffs, they dream of signing Philippe Coutinho too.”
There is a clear tactic by Beckham and Co to sign players to keep the big stars like Messi happy. Given that he has just won another Ballon D’or this isn’t a surprise.
The report continued on to talk about Coutinho further. They added: “In September the Brazilian had said yes to the loan move to Al Duhail and had flown to Qatar, but he was not satisfied with his experience.
“He is now looking for a new adventure given that Aston Villa, the club that owns his contract, has “dumped” him some time ago. Messi called him and the former Inter player is thinking about it.”
It is clear to see that this move would make sense for all parties. The issue may come around finances and the ‘David Beckham Rule’ in the MLS finances.
