Joao Felix is considering terminating his contract at Atletico Madrid with multiple clubs, including Aston Villa, interested in signing him.

Felix’s future at the Wanda Metropolitano looks to be in doubt as Belen Boli has reported.

His status at the club has been under threat in recent months.

Following a fall out with Diego Simeone, he was loaned to Chelsea, which didn’t change his prospects.

After being told he wasn’t part of the Atleti manager’s plans and his squad number was given to Antoine Griezmann, Felix wants out.

Barcelona and Aston Villa have interest in the forward, but are put off by his transfer fee and wage demands.

With interest at a low at the time of writing, it appears he wants to terminate his contract and force a move.

Should Aston Villa sign Joao Felix?

He is undoubtably a talent, you don’t cost £120 million if you aren’t.

It must be said, it seems Felix chose the wrong club to move to.

He is a creative, tricky and quick player who can play all across the front three.

Simeone is one of the best managers in terms of defensive set up. His sides are always nasty and tough to play against.

Whether it is the fault of Felix or not, he just hasn’t fit into that set up.

In 16 appearances at Chelsea, he scored four goals. He played well in spells but didn’t secure a permanent deal.

He has been linked on and off with Unai Emery’s side this window without anything coming to pass.

The Villa faithful aren’t completely sure about the potential signing of Felix due to his apparent attitude problems.

This paired with his refusal to play for Simeone in a somewhat similar style of football to Emery.

This would need the Portuguese to get involved defensively which isn’t his strong point.

His talent is there for everyone to see but appears to have certain issues which may turn clubs away.

He would excite fans as a signing that is for sure.

With the potential signing of Nicolo Zaniolo, he might not be an option being considered any further by the Villains.
