Jaden Philogene-Bidace joined Hull City this summer in a move that took Aston Villa fans by surprise, he has now spoken out about the move.

Philogene made a £5 million move to the Championship this summer, after a positive pre season it appeared he would get a first team chance.

The winger came through the Villa academy and went on to make six appearances for the club.

While on loan at Stoke City, he played well in spells but didn’t pull up any trees.

At Cardiff City is where he made a name for himself, making 37 appearances and scoring four goals last season.

The Englishman played in several pre season games and as a result Villa fans felt that he would be part of the plans.

In spite of this, Villa cashed in and sold the 21-year old.

What has Jaden Philogene-Bidace said?

He signed for Hull City on a three year deal, with the Villains reportedly having a buy back clause put into the contract.

When discussing his move, he puts the move down to the Tigers’ manager: “The manager, Liam Rosenior, the way these guys play football sold it to me.”

“He showed me where I can play and it suits my style of football.”

It is clear that Philogene has departed Villa in hope of first team football on a regular basis, and Hull are one of the best in the league.

The 21-year old has made 48 appearances in the Championship and has plenty of experience.

On his career progression, he said: “It all played a part to get me where I am now. I know what it’s like to be in a relegation battle.

“I know what the Championship’s all about and I’ve got to bring all of that here to Hull.”

Most Villa fans wanted Philogene to stay, but they will also hope he can smash it with the Tigers.
